A reminder that the 10pc. George Gee Swing Orchestra featuring vocalists Hilary Gardner and John Dokes, continues their weekly Tuesday evening Big Band Swing Dance Party at SWING46 Jazz & Supper Club, conveniently located in the heart of Times Square, New York City. Still going strong after 14 swingin’ years, George and the band plays from 830pm-1130pm, with a complimentary basic swing dance from Dance Manhattan Studios after the first set (dance lesson begins at 930pm) and still a very reasonable $12 music charge.. |

NEW CD NOW AVAILABLE
Thanks for stopping by GeorgeGee.com and visiting our own little world of swing and jazz. 2011 marks our venture into the 31st year of existence for The George Gee Swing Orchestra and happy to report that we’re still swingin’ steady! The world could always use a happy message and we're happy to oblige with The Gospel of Swing. Swing is happy music and best played by happy people – our simple philosophy.
The NEW CD by The George Gee Swing Orchestra is now ready! Now in 2011, George Gee and his more compact 10 piece swing big band – releases GJazz Records GJ3568, “If Dreams Come True.” After over three decades as an established swing bandleader in the big band industry, George Gee realizes that this is a “Dream Come True!” Little did he know that when he started his first big band on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh in 1980, that it would lead to a continuing lifetime fulfillment of his passion for the big band art form and it’s style of music and dance.
Our previous CD (with the full 17 piece Big Band) recording (with the full 17 piece Big Band), “Settin’ the Pace,” recorded with big band legend and NEA Jazz Master and Frank Foster (1928-2011). This CD is still enjoying regular airplay on jazz radio stations around the country and beyond. Considered for a Grammy nomination in 2004, the recording features Frank’s stellar arrangements (under his direction) and once again, vocalist Carla Cook. Visit our record label, GJazz Records, for biographical, production and purchase information. With Frank Foster’s unfortunate recent passing, this recording takes on an even more historic significance and is dedicated to his love, memory and music!
Three decades of wildly successful parties, The George Gee Orchestra is now ready to Swing and Rock at your next BIG Special Event, see a teaser of their new party demo video here. Full version at the Private Parties & Event Planning page!
